Emil Steck Wadley, 83, of St. Louis, formerly of Scott City, died Saturday, Dec. 6, 2008, at Cardinal Ritter Nursing Home in St. Louis.
He was born Feb. 20, 1925, son of Ben Elder and Mary Roark Wadley. He married Marcella Jones. He was a 1942 graduate of Scott City High School. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Wadley was employed by Cotton Belt Railroad from 1946 to 1953, and retired from Missouri Metal Trim in St. Louis in 1992. He was a member of VFW Post 877.
Survivors include nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, a son, a brother and a sister.
A service was held Tuesday at Hillcrest Abbey Mausoleum in St. Louis.
John Ziegenhein and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
