Graveside service for Emil C. "Peanuts" Phillips, 3973 County Road 645, will be held at 4 p.m. today at Hanover Lutheran Church Cemetery. The Rev. Jeffrey Sippy will officiate.
There is no visitation.
McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau is in charge of arrangements.
Phillips, 85, died Thursday, July 17, 1997, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born Jan. 27, 1912, in Cape Girardeau, son of Gus and Anna Meyer Phillips. He and LaVerne Smith were married Dec. 9, 1946.
Phillips attended Hanover and Coker Schools. He was a member of Hanover Lutheran Church.
He was a self-employed farmer, and had worked at Firestone Tire and Rubber Co. in Cape Girardeau. He had lived in Cape Girardeau 48 years.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Kevin Phillips; and a brother, Walter Phillips, all of Cape Girardeau.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
