SIKESTON, Mo. -- Funeral for Emanuel B. Woods of Memphis, Tenn., will be held at 1 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home. The Rev. Lee Fansler will officiate. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Woods, 82, died Friday, Oct. 26, 2001, at his home.
He was born March 8, 1919, in Kentucky, son of William Theodore and Florence Jane Woods Sr. He and Mildred Harmon were married Sept. 9, 1939, in Sikeston.
Woods was a self-employed farmer 42 years, and before retiring was as a maintenance worker at Bright Star Motel in Florida. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Memphis.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Anita Wilkerson of Memphis, Carol Littleton of Horn Lake, Mich.; two brothers, William Woods Jr. of Sikeston, Tommy Woods of Bertrand, Mo.; three sisters, Mabel Peters of Bertrand, Ruby Little of Michigan, Norma Matthews of Fisk, Mo.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
