Elzie Lee Brant, 86, of Scott City died Thursday, April 21, 2011, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Feb. 14, 1925, in Ancell, to Elva and Martha Ellen Lampkins Brant. He married Eve Ercell Medlock July 3, 1955, in Tunica, Miss. She preceded him in death April 25, 2008.
Brant was owner/operator of Scott City Boarding Home. He was a member of Father's Arms Fellowship in Scott City.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.
Survivors include a son, David (Robbie) Brant of Scott City; a daughter, Thelma (Charles) Reef of Winfield, Mo.; a sister, Norma Estes of Scott City; seven grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, two brothers, a grandchild and a great-grandchild.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Ken Strong officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery with full military honors.
