Elvis "Tiny" McCrite, 60, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2000, at St. Louis University Hospital.
He was born Nov. 6, 1940, in Alexander County, Ill., son of Farrell and Lucille Smith McCrite. He and JoAnn Banfield were married Nov. 3, 1969, at Morley, Mo.
He grew up in Alexander County and had worked as a millwright for Alberici Construction in St. Louis for nine years. He lived in Cape Girardeau for 30 years and was a member of Construction Labor Union #1104.
Survivors include his wife; a son, David McCrite of Cape Girardeau; three brothers, Farrell McCrite of Charleston, Mo., James McCrite of Cape Girardeau and Robert McCrite of Olive Branch, Ill.; and three sisters, Wanda Grace of Mounds, Ill., Lois McCrite of Charleston, Mo., and Beverly Reid of Mexico, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.
Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home. Burial will be in McCrite Cemetery near Olive Branch, Ill.
