CHARLESTON -- Elvis Long, 79, of Charleston died Saturday, Dec. 28, 1991, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
He was born Sept. 3, 1912 near Bloomfield, the son of Daniel Jackson and Ida Sparrow Long.
He had lived in Charleston since 1956. He was a member of the First Christian Church and owner of Charleston News Agency until retirement in 1970.
On March 26, 1988, he married Wilma Sisk. She survives.
He is also survived by one stepdaughter, Yvonne Brewer Williams, Makekilo, Hawaii; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Friends may call after 9:30 a.m. Monday at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.
Funeral service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. J.L. Laughlin, pastor of First Christian Church of Charleston, and the Rev. Gerald Penn, pastor of the Assembly of God Church of Charleston, officiating.
Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery near Charleston.
