Elvira Schwach

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Elvira Marie Schwach, 84, of Perryville died Saturday, April 1, 2006, at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Perryville.

She was born March 30, 1922, in Menfro, Mo., daughter of Gilbert E. and Isabelle R. Bienleine Brewer. She and Franklin Emmendorfer were married and he preceded her in death. She and John V. Schwach were married April 17, 1978. He died Nov. 7, 2004.

Schwach was a rover and supervisor for a shoe factory and Prince Gardner. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, VFW Auxiliary, former member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in LaCenter, Ky., and its Ladies Sodality, and active in the Community Center in Perryville.

Survivors include three sons, Linus, Robert and William Emmendorfer, all of Perryville; a stepson, Donald Schwach of Corona, Calif.; nine grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 11 great-stepgrandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a brother, a sister, a stepson, a stepdaughter, a great-grandson and a stepgrandson.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. today and from 6:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Young and Sons Funeral Home. A Catholic wake will be held at 7 tonight, followed by a VFW Auxiliary wake at 7:15. The rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. Wednesday.

Funeral Mass will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with the Rev. Kevin Fausz officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
