PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Elvin E. "Happy" Moonier, 79, of Perryville died Thursday, Aug. 24, 2006, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born Nov. 20, 1926, at Perryville, son of Claude E. and Anna Genevieve Huber Moonier. He and Marjorie A. Hahn were married May 5, 1948.
Moonier was owner of Moonier's Florist and Greenhouse. He was a member of American Legion Post 133, and life member of VFW Post 4282.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Shirley Brandes of Perryville; a son, Wayne Moonier of Perryville; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, a grandson and four brothers.
Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday, and Monday from 6:30 a.m. to service time. The VFW wake will be at 6:45 p.m. Sunday, followed by the American Legion wake at 7.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield, with military honors to be presented.
