Elvin "Earl" Ladd Sr., 72, 1469 N. Water, died Friday, Oct. 13, 1995, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Jan. 10, 1923, in Monette, Ark., son of William Elmer and Mary Attie Baldridge Ladd. He married Ruth Adams on June 15, 1950, in Boonville, Miss.
Ladd was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He had lived in Cape Girardeau since 1976, moving from Jackson, and was a retired restaurant cook.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Elvin Earl Ladd Jr. of Chaffee; six daughters, Beverly Adams, Glinda Seabaugh and Vanessa Lowell, all of Cape Girardeau, Stephanie Thompson of Scott City, Elvine Misty Flannigan of Dalgren, Ill., and Junell Wyman of Bonne Terre; two brothers, H.A. Ladd of Turlock, Calif., and Marvin Ladd of Providence, Ky.; a sister, Eula Clem of Trumann, Ark.; 18 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son and a brother.
A service will be held at 1:30 p.m. today at the Ford and Sons Funeral Sprigg Street Chapel, with the Rev. Scott Moon officiating.
Another visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann, and a graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Macey Cemetery in Monette.
