SIKESTON -- Elva V. Manchee, 89, of Sikeston died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 1997, at St. Luke's Hospital in Chesterfield. She was born July 30, 1908, in Red, daughter of Lewis Parrish and Rosa Etta Kestner Green. She and Francis "Dick" Manche were married July 7, 1930, in Peoria, Ill. He died March 17, 1963...

SIKESTON -- Elva V. Manchee, 89, of Sikeston died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 1997, at St. Luke's Hospital in Chesterfield.

She was born July 30, 1908, in Red, daughter of Lewis Parrish and Rosa Etta Kestner Green. She and Francis "Dick" Manche were married July 7, 1930, in Peoria, Ill. He died March 17, 1963.

Manche had been a teacher, retiring from Sikeston Public Schools. She was a member of King Creek Christian Church.

Survivors include two sons, John and Earl Manche of O'Fallon; two daughters, Eva Kincy of Sikeston, Frances Anderson of Spanish Lake; a sister, Lavalle Cameron of Sun City, Ariz.; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, four sisters, and three brothers.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Ed Pangburn officiating. Burial will be in Dexter Cemetery at Dexter.

Friends may call at the chapel after 9 a.m. Friday.
