ELSIE L. CLIFTON

PERRYVILLE -- Funeral service for Elsie L. Clifton of Perryville will be held at 11 a.m. today at Young and Sons Funeral Home. The Rev. Ed Hankinson will officiate, with burial in York Chapel Cemetery at Longtown.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 6:30 a.m.

Clifton, 89, died Sunday, Nov. 12, 1995, at Perry County Nursing Home.

She was born July 5, 1906, in Perry County, daughter of Glen and Bessie Fox Hoffman. She and William J. Clifton were married Sept. 14, 1924. He died May 29, 1956.

Clifton had been a cook at Perry County Nursing Home. She was a member of York Chapel Methodist Church.

Survivors include a son, Earl Clifton of Perryville; two daughters, Helen Rudisaile and Mildred Abernathy of Perryville; two brothers, Russell Hoffman of Dexter, Ky., Elvis Hoffman of St. Charles; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
