HOWARDVILLE -- Elnora Thornton, 77, of Howardville died Monday, Nov. 17, 1997, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
She was born Jan. 12, 1920, in Belzoni, Miss., the daughter of Frank Jordan and Marie Austin Jordan. She lived in Missouri for more than 32 years and was a member of the First Baptist Church and of Queen Mirah Chapter 8 of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Thornton.
Survivors include a daughter, Daphne Givens of Quantico, Va.; four sisters, Colenthia Louis, Marie Thomas and Lodean Moore, both of Chicago, Ill., and Mattie Ford of Memphis, Tenn.; and three grandchildren.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Friday at Williams-Farr and Purnell Funeral Home in Howardville.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. James Bell officiating.
Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery at New Madrid.
