Elmore Watson Kassel Elmore Watson Kassel, 59, of Lemay died Monday at his residence. He was born Jan. 16, 1940, in Cape Girardeau to Neva E. Ford and Elmore Wilson Kassel. Elmore Watson Kassel

Elmore Watson Kassel, 59, of Lemay died Monday at his residence.

He was born Jan. 16, 1940, in Cape Girardeau to Neva E. Ford and Elmore Wilson Kassel.

He was the brother of Ruth Jean Lange of Fruitland and Chloe Jane Gibbons of Shell Knob, the father of Michael Dale Kassel and Jeffrey Allen Kassel, both of St. Louis, and the uncle to six nieces and nephews.

He was a graduate of Cape Central High School and attended Southeast Missouri State University.

While living in Cape, he was employed by Kassel Jewelry before moving to St. Louis and working for Jaccard Jewelry. He was later employed by the Singer Co. as a service representative for public schools in the St. Louis area.

He received an honorable discharge from the Missouri National Guard.

Mr. Kassel was a generous and considerate individual, very interested in music. While in college he was a member of the Golden Eagles Marching Band and also a member of the Cape Girardeau Municipal Band. Mr. Kassel also performed with the Cape Girardeau Symphony and was a member of the Presbyterian Church.

Memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 9, at Concordia Lutheran Church, 505 S. Kirkwood Road, in St. Louis.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel.

Funeral will follow at 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park.

Memorials to the Heart Association would be appreciated.
