Elmer Yeager
PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Elmer H. Yeager, 90, of Perryville died Friday, Aug. 22, 2008, at Independence Care Center of Perry County.
He was born Sept. 23, 1917, at McBride, Mo., son of Benjamin and Lena Bert Yeager. He and Inez Sutterer were married June 25, 1941. She died Oct. 13, 2006.
Yeager was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He had been a maintenance worker for Detroit. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, VFW Post 4282, American Legion Post 133 and Knights of Columbus Council 1263.
Survivors include two sons, Raymond Yeager of Whitney Point, N.Y., Edward Yeager of Bluffton, Ohio; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 6:30 to 9 a.m. Monday at Young and Sons Funeral Home. Parish and Knights of Columbus wake will be at 4 p.m. Sunday.
Funeral Mass will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at St. Vincent de Paul Church, with the Rev. Milton Ryan officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by American Legion Post 133.
