Elmer J. Sperling, 90, of Webster Groves, died Friday, July 26, 1996, at Shawnee Mission Medical Center.
He was born Nov. 25, 1905, in Cape Girardeau, son of William John and Minnie Deneke Sperling. He and Virginia Schuler were married in 1937. She died in 1992.
Sperling was a graduate of the University of Missouri-Rolla, and did graduate work in Karlsruhe, Germany.
He was a civil engineer and had worked for TVA and Metropolitan Sewer District in St. Louis. He was a member of Webster Hills United Methodist Church and American Society of Civil Engineers.
Survivors include two daughters, Suzanne Wright of Linneus, Mary Rose of Leawood, Kan.; a son, John Sperling of Springfield, Va.; six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Bopp Funeral Home in Kirkwood from 4-8 p.m. Sunday.
Funeral service will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Webster Hills Church. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. at Zion Cemetery in Gordonville.
