EAST PRAIRIE -- Elmer W. Shreve, 74, of East Prairie died Thursday, June 11, 1998, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
He was born July 11, 1923, in Mason, Mich., son of Walter Issac and Beatrice Thelma Sanders Shreve.
Shreve was a retired dairy farmer. He was a member of St. James Village General Baptist Church. He formerly lived in Villa Ridge and Murphysboro, Ill.
Survivors include three sons, Keith Shreve of Olive Branch, Ill., Jeff Shreve of Mounds, Ill., Tim Shreve of Bumpass, Va.; five sisters, Pauline Gilbert of Lansing, Mich., Margaret Pike of Remus, Mich., Lucille Horvath of Phoenix, Ariz., Irene Brightwell of Chesapeake, Va., Dawn Austin of Fenton, Mich.; a friend, Christine Edeering of East Prairie; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
Friends may call at Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge from 5-8 p.m. Sunday.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. David Dowdy officiating. Burial will be in Tower Grove Cemetery at Murphysboro.
