Elmer Lohmann

Elmer Leo Lohmann, 84, of Scott City died Thursday, March 12, 2009, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Oct. 29, 1924, in Cape Girardeau, son of Edward and Emma Kohlfeld Lohmann. He and Vera Mae Held were married March 8, 1967, in Tunica, Miss.

Lohmann was a laborer with Local 1104 in Cape Girardeau. He was a member of Eisleben Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Leon and Mike Lohmann of Cape Girardeau; two stepsons, Joe and Roger Smith of Scott City; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, a sister and a great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the chapel, with the Rev. Bob Azinger officiating. Burial will be in Eisleben Lutheran Cemetery.
