PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Elmer R. Killian, 76, of Perryville died Thursday, Sept. 21, 2000, at his home.
He was born Jan. 10, 1924, in Perry County, Mo., son of Oscar L. and Georgia M. Rhodes Killian. He and Geraldine Sutterer were married June 10, 1951, and she died March 29, 1971. He then married Wilma C. Ruch Welker on June 14, 1975.
Mr. Killian was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a grocery clerk and produce manager for A&P Grocery Store.
He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Parish and a third-degree Knight of Columbus. He also was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife; one stepson Rodney B. Welker of Hermann, Mo.; and two brothers, Oscar L. Killian of Sarasota, Fla., and Kenneth E. Killian of Perryville.
Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. Monday at Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville. Parish prayers with the Knights of Columbus will be at 7 p.m. Monday, and an American Legion service will be at 7:30 p.m. Monday.
Friends also may call from 6:30 until 9:50 a.m. Tuesday. The Rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with the Rev. Kevin P. Fausz officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Graveside military honors will be performed by the Moonier-Reddick American Legion, Post 133.
