DAISY -- Funeral service for Elmer Hobeck of Daisy will be held at 11 a.m. today at McCombs Funeral Chapel. The Revs. Johnny Seabaugh and Lloyd Bollinger will officiate, with burial in New Salem Cemetery.
Hobeck, 57, died Monday, May 17, 1993, in the emergency room at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born April 2, 1936, at Friedheim, son of Elmer Floyd and Retta Mae Barks Hobeck. He and Inez Ahrens were married June 1, 1956.
Hobeck had been a carpenter and farmer. He retired in 1991 after 18 years with Cape Girardeau County Highway Department. He was a lifelong member and trustee of New Salem United Methodist Church. He formerly played music with Daisy Travelers, and was currently a member of the Country Echoes.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Gary Hobeck of Millersville, Dale Hobeck of Sedgewickville; three daughters, Linda James of Millersville, Brenda Harris of Jackson, Karen Shirley of Cape Girardeau; three brothers, Floyd Hobeck of Friedheim, Milford Hobeck of Daisy, Gifford Hobeck of Jackson; six grandchildren, and two stepgrandchildren.
