PATTERSON, Mo. -- Elmer Ernest Hawn, 88, of Patterson died Saturday, July 30, 2016, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born Aug. 11, 1927, in Cape Girardeau to Elmer Earl and May Louisa Seabaugh Hawn. He was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau. PATTERSON, Mo. -- Elmer Ernest Hawn, 88, of Patterson died Saturday, July 30, 2016, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Aug. 11, 1927, in Cape Girardeau to Elmer Earl and May Louisa Seabaugh Hawn.

He was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau. He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Elmer grew up in Cape Girardeau.

He was a lifelong brick mason and was a past president of Bricklayers Local No. 23.

He is survived by life partner Sue Keesee of Patterson, Missouri; two sons, William C. Hawn of Waterloo, Illinois, and James S. Hawn of Bellevue, Washington; daughter Catherine L. Hawn of The Woodlands, Texas; seven grandchildren, Jonathan D. Hunnicutt, Emily K. Baize, William N. Hawn, Catherine M. Hawn, Charles R. Hawn, Julia C. Hawn and James S. Hawn of Illinois; and five great-grandchildren, Joshua Hunnicutt, Sophia Baize, Anya Hunnicutt, Grace Baize and Isaac Hunnicutt.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Private family services will be conducted at a later date.
