Elmer J. Foeste, 79, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, June 20, 2000, at his home.
He was born July 10, 1920, at Egypt Mills, son of Maple and Rose C. Nabe Foeste. He and Ruby Hengst were married Sept. 5, 1942, at Benton. She died March 18, 1999.
Foeste was retired from Foeste Nursery. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and VFW Post 3838.
He was a staff sergeant with the U.S. Army in Europe during World War II.
Survivors include a brother, Claude Foeste of Cape Girardeau, and a sister, Bessie Bozarth of Cape Girardeau.
He was preceded in death by a son.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. David Hintz officiating. Burial will be in Hobbs Chapel Cemetery, with graveside rites by VFW Post 3838.
