Elmer F. Hagedorn, 79, of 2428 Melrose in Cape Girardeau died Saturday, March 7, 1992, at his home.

He was born July 27, 1912, in St. Louis, the son of Frank and Mary Hagedorn. On Nov. 29, 1934, he married Teresa Martin, who survives of Cape Girardeau.

He was a salesman for Rice Stix dry goods at St. Louis for 27 years. He moved to Cape Girardeau in 1937, and was a traveler for the Griffaw Furniture Company here and managed the Cape Girardeau Country Club for three years. He also owned and managed the Fabric Shop on Spanish Street for 12 years. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include three sons, Richard Hagedorn of Cape Girardeau, Robert Hadedorn of Fort Oglethorpe, Ga. and David Hagedorn of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; two daughters, Diane Johnston of Cape Girardeau and Carol O'Hayon of Palm Beach Gardens; seven grandchildren; and one, great-grandchild.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau, where parish prayers will be said at 7:30 p.m. Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church. The Rev. Richard Rolwing will officiate, and burial will be in the church cemetery.
