Elmer Lee Crippen, 79, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2004, at Life Care Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Feb. 28, 1924, in Cobden, Ill., son of Henry O. and Josie Staggs Crippen.
Crippen was a member of the Salvation Army in Cape Girardeau for over 45 years. He served in the Army from 1943 to 1945. He was employed at Granite City Steel.
Survivors include two daughters, Tina Rodgers of McClure, Ill., and Debra Crippen of Texas; a sister, Anna Taylor of Thebes, Ill.; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. today at St. Mary Cemetery in Mounds, Ill. Maj. Elmer Trapp (ret.) of the Salvation Army will officiate.
Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
