CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Elmer Jewell Babb, 84, of Charleston died Saturday, Aug. 5, 2000, at Bertrand Nursing Facility.
He was born June 17, 1916, in Diehlstadt, Mo., son of Elmer S. and Bunice Plunkett Babb. He and Emma "Tootie" Hazel were married Oct. 15, 1948.
He had lived in Dielstadht and rural Charleston his entire life and was a retired farmer and landowner. He was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Sikeston, Mo.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Joseph William Babb of Dupont, Wash., Charlie Babb of Naples, Fla., and Daniel J. Babb of Charleston; six grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Gerald Collier officiating. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
