ELLIS SMITH

WOLF LAKE, Ill. -- Ellis Smith, 84, of Wolf Lake, Ill., died Saturday, Jan. 22, 1994, at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born May 1, 1909, at Wolf Lake, son of Andrew and Ida Margaret Smith.

He married Virginia Rose Hammel, Oct. 23, 1943, at Cape Girardeau.

Smith was a member of the Laborers Local 1330 and the member of the Assembly of God Church in Wolf Lake.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Margaret Dale of Jonesboro, Grace Cook of Wolf Lake, Kathryn Yow of Carbondale, Ill.; four sons, Joe Smith, Harold Smith, Elvis Smith and Ellis C. Smith, all of Wolf Lake; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the Norris and Son Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Norris and Son Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jim Stamp officiating.

Burial will follow in the Jonesboro Cemetery.
