ALTENBURG, Mo. -- Ellis B. Kuntze, 80, of Altenburg died Friday, Sept. 8, 2006, at his home.
He was born Nov. 14, 1925, in Altenburg, son of Herman Benjamin and Mathilda Anna Engert Kuntze. He and Olga Erna Lohmann were married April 11, 1948, in Farrar, Mo.
Kuntze was a lifetime farmer. He worked for 10 years at Altenburg Machine Shop as a machine operator. Kuntze was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Altenburg, American Legion Post 133 in Perryville; a retired agent for Community Mutual Insurance Co. in Pocahontas, a Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include a son, Richard Kuntze of Altenburg; three daughters, Helen Kuntze of Altenburg, Beverly Parsons of St. Louis Park, Minn., Ruth Miesner of Altenburg; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter and a sister.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Altenburg; American Legion wake will be at 7 p.m. Visitation continues from 6:30 a.m. Monday until time of service.
Funeral will at 10 a.m. Monday at the church, with the Rev. Keith Weise officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery, with military graveside services provided by American Legion Post 133.
