HERCULANEUM, Mo. -- Ellis Loy "Sloy" Crowell, 64, of Herculaneum, formerly of Sikeston, Mo., died Friday, July 18, 2003, at Jefferson County Memorial Hospital in Festus, Mo.
He was born March 9, 1939, in Sikeston, son of Oscar and Naydeen Crowell.
Crowell was a retired mechanic and farmer. He was a member of the Sikeston Eagles Aries 3319.
Survivors include his mother of Bertrand, Mo.; a son, Kenneth Lee Crowell of St. Louis; two daughters, Angelina Clark of Cassville, Mo., and Laura Valendy of St. Peters, Mo.; a brother, Larry Crowell of Sikeston; four sisters, Sandra Lynch of Bertrand, Merilyn Patterson of Sikeston, Joyce Ann Aquino of Modesto, Calif., and Betty Sue O'Leary of Las Vegas; six grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his father and a brother.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Blanchard Funeral Chapel at Sikeston.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Dwayne Coleman officiating. Burial will be in Dogwood Cemetery south of Bertrand, Mo., with full military rights to be conducted by the Missouri Honors Program.
