Ellen Popp

Ellen K. Popp, 59, of Jackson passed away Saturday, March 6, 2010, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born June 18, 1950, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Carl and Bernice Aufdenberg Schaper.

Ellen was a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson and had been employed by Rapco-Horizon Co. 25 years.

Loving survivors include a son, John Popp of Smyrna, Tenn.; a daughter, Jessica Popp of St. Louis; three brothers, Tom Schaper of Old Appleton, Mo., Carl Schaper Jr. of St. Charles, Mo., and Jeff Schaper of Ottawa, Kan.; two sisters, Judy Austin of Eureka, Mo., Loretta Peterson of Newark, Del.; and a special uncle, Irwin Bruce of Jackson.

She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant sister.

Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. until time of service Saturday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Robert Henrichs officiating.
