ADVANCE, Mo. -- Ellen C. Overton, 90, died Saturday, April 21, 2001, at Advance Nursing Center in Advance. She was born July 27, 1910, at Rumbaur, Mo., daughter of Charles and Eva Looney Scowden. She and Basil Overton were married Oct. 5, 1937, at Sturdivant, Mo. He died in 1979...

ADVANCE, Mo. -- Ellen C. Overton, 90, died Saturday, April 21, 2001, at Advance Nursing Center in Advance.

She was born July 27, 1910, at Rumbaur, Mo., daughter of Charles and Eva Looney Scowden. She and Basil Overton were married Oct. 5, 1937, at Sturdivant, Mo. He died in 1979.

Survivors include a son, Richard Overton of Advance, eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by a son and a brother.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.

Service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. Denver Glenn officiating. Burial will be in Berrong Cemetery in Gipsy, Mo.
