Funeral mass for Ellen Montgomery of Cape Girardeau will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Vincent's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Arthur Trapp officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 5-7 p.m. Friday.

Montgomery, 92, died Monday, Oct. 24, 1994, at her home.

She was born Aug. 7, 1902, daughter of James and Ella Luise Kanaley of Northport, Wash. She and John August Montgomery were married in 1927. He died Dec. 7, 1975.

Montgomery received a degree in nursing from San Francisco Children's Hospital. She was a registered nurse and did private duty work in Daytona Beach, Fla.

She had lived in Cape Girardeau since 1940. She was a member of St. Vincent's Catholic Church, and had been a volunteer at Mid America Teen Challenge and Southeast Missouri Hospital.

Survivors include two daughters, Luise Scarlett of San Diego, Calif., Susan Smith of Cape Girardeau; two sons, William Montgomery of St. Louis, Robert Montgomery of Irvine, Calif.; 15 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, four sisters and two brothers.
