Funeral for Ella E. Oliver of Foristell, formerly of Cape Girardeau, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. The Rev. Brian Anderson will officiate. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.

Friends may call at the chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.

Oliver, 88, died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 1999, in Foristell.

She was born Jan. 5, 1912, in Gordonville, daughter of Herman Christian and Wildamine Wessel Daume. She and Lester Willis Oliver were married Nov. 19, 1932, in Jonesboro, Ill. He died Nov. 8, 1944.

Oliver had been a dormitory housekeeper at Southeast Missouri State University. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Jackson and its Sanctuary Sunday School Class.

Survivors include two sons, Jerry Oliver of Jackson, James Oliver of Nashville, Tenn.; three daughters, Shirley Matthis of El Reno, Okla., Carole Chestnut of Warrenton, Karen Glaub of Foristell; a sister, Laura Stoll of Gulf Shores, Ala.; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter and five brothers.
