Ella Friese

Ella Marie Friese, 85, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, March 21, 2016, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born March 2, 1931, in New Hamburg, Missouri, to Frank and Leona Goetz Bucher.

She and Carlston Eugene "Gene" Friese were married Oct. 1, 1949, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Fornfelt. He preceded her in death Jan. 10, 2002.

Ella graduated from St. Mary's High School in Cape Girardeau in 1949.

She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau and its Women's Council. She worked in bookkeeping at Ely Walker, D&G Lumber Co. and Crites Construction and later was a homemaker.

Ella was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who dedicated her life to her family.

Survivors include two daughters, Deborah Friese of Cape Girardeau and Tina (Norman) Magill of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; two grandsons, Justin Magill and Joshua (Amanda) Magill, both of Poplar Bluff; and a great-grandson, Mason Magill of Poplar Bluff.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, with the Rev. David Hulshof officiating.

Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Missouri Veterans Home or to a charity of your choice.
