CHARLESTON -- Ella Clayton, 98, of Charleston, died Monday, March 14, 1994, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
She was born Aug. 29, 1895, in Terrell Switch, Tenn., daughter of James and Annie Wynn Smith. She and Newton A. Clayton were married Oct. 13, 1911. He died Dec. 21, 1977.
Clayton had lived in Mississippi County most of her life, and was a member of the United Methodist Church here.
Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Davis of Memphis, Tenn.; a granddaughter, and two great-grandsons.
She was preceded in death by two sons, a daughter and two brothers.
Friends may call at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Richard Combs officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery.
