Ella Louise "Granny" Anderson, 86, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, July 15, 1999, at her home.
She was born Aug. 9, 1912, in Tupelo, Miss., daughter of George and Ella Simpson White. She had been a resident of Missouri for more than 80 years.
On Jan. 2, 1948, in Blytheville, Ark., she married Harry Hoffman Anderson. He died Jan. 20, 1986.
She was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau.
She is survived by four daughters, Regina Lester of Cape Girardeau, Phyllis L. Johnson of Greenville, Texas, Eddith Ann Jones of Elkhart, Ind., and Evelyn Charles Davis of St. Louis; a stepson, Harry Hoffman Anderson Jr., of Wichita, Kan.; a stepdaughter, Bernice Buchanan of Chicago; 14 grandchildren; and 42 great-grandchildren.
Three brothers, a sister and granddaughter preceded her in death.
Friends may call Monday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Greater Dimension Church of God in Christ in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday, with Dr. William Bird and the Rev. Howard McGee Jr. officiating. Burial will be in New Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
Sparks Funeral Home in Charleston is in charge of arrangements.
