Mary Elizabeth Orr Wilson shed her earthly bonds Wednesday, July 20, 2022, with her family by her side.

Mary preferred her middle name -- Elizabeth -- and most who knew her called her Lizzy or Aunt Lizzy. She was born April 15, 1936, in Lewellen, Nebraska, to the late Wilber and Mary Ott Orr. The daughter of a pastor, she lived in many places as a young girl including Indiana, Colorado, Idaho and Ontario, Canada. Eventually the family settled in Salem, Ohio. She attended high school at God's Bible School in Cincinnati and completed her nurse's training at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati.

While at God's Bible School, she met the love of her life, the Rev. Cedric Wilson. Elizabeth and Cedric were married on June 25, 1955. They were married for 47 years before Cedric passed Aug. 7, 2002.

During their 47 years of marriage, Elizabeth and Cedric pastored several Wesleyan churches in Ohio. Elizabeth loved God with all her heart and devoted her life to serving God, her family and the people in the communities where they pastored. Her faith, compassion, kindness and love for others was an inspiration to all who knew her. Elizabeth was gifted musically, and she especially loved to play the piano and sing. On Sunday mornings you would find her playing the piano and leading worship in her church. She also enjoyed sewing and crocheting and blessed many family and friends with handmade quilts and afghans. She served as a nurse in many communities where she lived, but she was especially fond of serving as the nurse at Victory Campground every summer for more than 40 years.
