"Nana" Stubbs, daughter of John and Bertha Lauck Halter, was born Jan. 20, 1937, in Chaffee and departed her life Saturday, June 1, 2024, in Chaffee Nursing Center at the age of 87 years. Elizabeth J. "Nana" Stubbs, daughter of John and Bertha Lauck Halter, was born Jan. 20, 1937, in Chaffee and departed her life Saturday, June 1, 2024, in Chaffee Nursing Center at the age of 87 years.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church her entire life and Daughters of St. Ambrose.

On June 29, 1957, she was united in marriage to Lynn F. Stubbs. He preceded her in death.

Survivors include two sons, Edward Stubbs of Broussard, Louisiana, and Russell Stubbs of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin; three daughters, Katherine Vandercook and Mary Foeste, both of Chaffee, and Nancy Stubbs of Benton; one sister, Anna Mae Smith of Ringgold, Georgia; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Albert and William Halter, and three sisters, Cecelia Walton, Dorothy Dees and Lorene Halter.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 7, at Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Chaffee.

Eucharistic celebration will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 8, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, with the Rev. Joseph Kelly officiating. Interment will follow in Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee.

The Stubbs family would like to thank the entire staff at Chaffee Nursing Center for its kindness and compassion.

The family requests that memorials be made in honor of Elizabeth to the Alzheimer’s Association or St. Ambrose Catholic School.
