Elizabeth New

Elizabeth New, 93, of Clarkton, Mo., died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2007, in Jackson.

She was born Aug. 29, 1913, at Clarkton, daughter of G.M. and Drucilla Whitaker Blaylock. She and Woodrow New were married Sept. 15, 1934, at Campbell, Mo. He died Nov. 22, 1987.

New was employed several years at Gossard Clothing Manufacturing. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Clarkton.

Survivors include a son, George New of Kennett, Mo.; three daughters, Cathy Hale of Millersville, Phyllis Lawson of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Barbara Kinard of Denmark, S.C.; a sister, Marjorie Davidson of Charleston, Mo.; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by four brothers.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Landess Funeral Home in Malden, Mo.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church in Clarkton, with the Revs. Dale Rickman and Jack Allen officiating. Burial will be in Stanfield Cemetery at Clarkton.
