BUNCOMBE, Ill. -- Elizabeth "Bet" Manus, 89, of Buncombe died Thursday, Nov. 24, 2005, at the Southgate Health Care Center in Metropolis, Ill.
She was born Sept. 4, 1917, at Cobden, Ill., daughter of John and Lydia Treece Haire. She and Raymond E. Manus were married May 23, 1937, at Buncombe. He died May 25, 2000.
Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Elkins of Buncombe; four sisters, Vera Colboth of Anna, Ill., Maye Stout and Vaye Eaves of Lick Creek, Ill., Erma Blankenship of Huntington, W.Va.; three brothers, Dick Haire of Porter, Ind., Charlie Haire of Anna, Lowell Haire of St. Charles, Ill.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a a grandson and two brothers.
Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna today after 6 p.m. and on Sunday until the funeral hour.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with pastor Dee Armes officiating. Burial will be in Ebenezer Hall Cemetery at Lick Creek.
