Elizabeth V. Looney, 94, formerly of Jackson, died Saturday, Aug. 19, 2006, at the Houston Hospice Center in Houston, Texas.
She was born March 31, 1912, in Jackson, daughter of Charles and Mary Louise Stimel Vinyard. She and Hassell Looney were married June 9, 1935. He died on June 14, 1989.
Looney worked at the former International Shoe Company in Jackson, and was a member of Shawnee Hills Baptist Church in Jackson. She resided in Houston since January 2001.
Survivors include three sons, Michael Looney of Kansas City, Mo., Timothy Louis of Houston, Texas, and Joseph Looney of Klickitat, Wash.; a brother, Sam Vinyard of Jackson; a sister, Dorothy Dunn of Uniontown, Penn.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
There is no visitation or service.
