Elizabeth Gentry Bryant, 89, of Scott City died Friday, Oct. 28, 2005, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. She was born April 25, 1916, in New Madrid, Mo., daughter of George W. and Sarah Francis Underwood Ward. She and Delbert "Brady" Bryant were married April 14, 1990, in Scott City. Elizabeth Gentry Bryant, 89, of Scott City died Friday, Oct. 28, 2005, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born April 25, 1916, in New Madrid, Mo., daughter of George W. and Sarah Francis Underwood Ward. She and Delbert "Brady" Bryant were married April 14, 1990, in Scott City. He died March 12, 2000.

Mrs. Bryant moved to Scott City in 1950 from Sikeston, Mo. She had worked at Florsheim Shoe Co., was a nurse aide at Southeast Missouri Hospital and was also a personal caregiver.

She was a member of Eisleben Lutheran Church and Ladies Auxiliary to VFW Post 6407, both in Scott City, and Eagles Aerie 3775 in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include five sons, Mike and Dick Gentry of Cape Girardeau, Stan Gentry of Ste. Genevieve, Mo., Steve Gentry of Leopold, Mo., Dan Gentry of Scott City; two daughters, Mary Pruitt of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Connie Scales of Houston, Texas; 16 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She also leaves behind as well, many dear friends, countless other relatives and loved ones.

She was preceded in death by a son, Troy Brown; five brothers; and two sisters.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the chapel, with the Rev. Rennie Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery at Scott City.

The family appreciates Elizabeth's loving caregivers.
