Elizabeth Bonifield

ORAN, Mo. -- Elizabeth Bonifield, 89, of Bell City, Mo., died Saturday, Aug. 10, 2002, at the Chaffee Nursing Center.

She was born Sept. 12, 1912, at Charleston, Mo., daughter of the late Alfred George and Berneita Telker Carlisle. She and Charles D. Bonifield were married May 8, 1932. He preceded her in death on Sept. 10, 1997.

After working 16 years as a store clerk, Elizabeth retired from Knights Department Store in Charleston, Mo. She was a member of Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran and was involved in the St. Ann Sodality.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Alfred and Hattie Bonifield of Oran and David and Kathy Bonifield of San Antonio, Texas; two sisters, Reginia Bruenderman of St. Charles, Mo., Frances Duff of Charleston; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran at 5 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m., and K.C. prayers will be at 7:15 p.m.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Guardian Angel Catholic Church. The Rev. Normand Varone will officiate, with burial in the church cemetery.
