Elizabeth Beardslee

Elizabeth Beardslee, 89, of Benton, Mo., died Saturday, July 28, 2007, at Heartland Care and Rehab in Cape Girardeau. She was born Jan. 17, 1918, in Sagmore, Pa., daughter of George and Ann Sovitch Garber. She married Maurice Beardslee June 18, 1940, in Detroit. He died Oct. 21, 2001.

Beardslee had worked in sales at Sears. She was a member of Benton Methodist Church.

She is survived by a son, Thomas Beardslee of Benton; a brother, Emery Garber of Detroit; a sister, Pat Gdula of Detroit; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, two brothers and three sisters.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral chapel, with the Rev. John Harth officiating. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery in Commerce, Mo.
