GLEN ALLEN -- Elihu (Giggs) Wright, 75, of Glen Allen died March 19, 1993, at St. Francis Medical Center.
He was born June 2, 1917, at Steele, Mo., the son of George Washington Wright and Kate Cooper Wright. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the armored infantry. He was a prisoner of war in Germany for more than three years.
He received the American defense service ribbon with two bronze stars. He also received the good conduct medal.
He was a member of the Hahn Chapel General Baptist Church of Marble Hill.
He was a member of VFW Post 5900 of Marble Hill, the Disabled Veterans and the Odd Fellows Lodge.
He married Virginia Phelps July 3, 1945. She survives.
Other survivors are three daughters, Brenda Stanfill and Sandy Page, both of Glen Allen, and Kay Bueter of Marble Hill; two brothers, Calvin Wright and George Wright, both of California; six sisters, Virginia Turnquist of Palm Beach Gardens Fla., Sue Ray of California, Patricia Wright of Arnold, and Peggy Capplers, Dorothy Webb and Anita Tubbesing, all of St. Louis; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Baker Funeral Home in Marble Hill after 4 p.m. today.
Services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 p.m. at Baker Chapel.
Burial will be in Glen Allen Cemetery, with full military rites from a detachment from Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.
