Elda Kasten, 91, of Jackson passed away Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2007, at Chateau Girardeau in Cape Girardeau.
Friends and family may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, followed by interment in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson. Officiating will be the Rev. David Johnson, pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson, where she had been a member since 1940.
Mrs. Kasten was born April 5, 1916, near Burfordville, daughter of Herman and Mollie Siebert Sperling.
She was baptized and confirmed at St. James United Church of Christ at Tilsit July 11, 1937. She and Walter E. Kasten of Shawneetown were married July 11, 1937. He died Aug. 9, 2001.
Mrs. Kasten worked at the former International Shoe Co. in Jackson, and then many years for the Jackson School food services.
Loving survivors include three daughters, Margie (Bob) Hoffman of St. Louis, Joyce (Tom) McCain of Boston, Mass., Lois Kasten of St. Charles, Mo.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.
