FARMINGTON -- Funeral service for Elba Martin of Farmington was held Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church here. The Rev. John Ghio and Deacon Bill Greif officiated, with burial in Shoemaker Family Cemetery at Jewett.
Martin, 48, died Saturday, Aug. 20, 1994, at her home.
She was born March 24, 1948, in Aquadulce, Republic of Panama, daughter of Raul L. and Alicia Castillo Luaces. She married William J. Martin.
Martin was a teacher and had taught at Cape Girardeau, Valle of Ste. Genevieve, Valley of Caledonia, West County, Bismarck, and Farmington High School.
She was a member of St. Joseph Church, Teens Encounter Christ, Missouri and Community Teachers Associations, Beta Sigma Phi sorority, Marriage Encounter, and had been active in Girl Scouts.
Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Arlene Jones of Farmington, Karen Bolhafner of St. Louis, Debbie Martin of the home; a son, Stephen Martin of the home; her mother; two sisters, Alicia Luaces and Mayra Tribble; a brother, Raul Luaces, all of Panama City, and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father.
