KELSO, Mo. -- Elaine Figliolo, 82, of Kelso departed this world Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2023, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born in Cape Girardeau Aug. 24, 1940, to the late Charles and Dorothy Atchley Moyers.
Elaine was a 1958 graduate of Notre Dame High School and was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso.
Being the oldest of seven children prepared her (only slightly) for her next adventure in life. In 1960, she had her first of five children. Five children are a lot for anyone, but she had five Figliolo children. If you know any of the "Figs", you know what a tremendous woman she was to be able to raise that crew. While raising her children and keeping them on the straight and narrow (laughing), she also owned and operated Elaine's Restaurant in Cape Girardeau.
Elaine was a bartender for several years at Lefty's in Kelso. She was an avid reader and a loyal St. Louis Cardinals fan. More than anything, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. If you were privileged enough to have been loved by Elaine, you knew the feeling of fierce, unconditional love. She will be missed immensely by so many.
Survivors include two daughters, Cindy (Kim) Voelker of Morgan City, Louisiana, and Michele (Kendra) Figliolo of Cape Girardeau; two sons, Brad (Carolyn) Figliolo and Mike (Angie) Figliolo, both of Cape Girardeau; two stepdaughters, Alana (Mike) Hodo and Shawna (Todd) LeGrand, both of Kelso; three brothers, Ronnie (Pam) Moyers, David (Joleda) Moyers and Jimmy (Rosezetta) Moyers; son-in-law, Rick Voelker; sister-in-law, Vicky Moyers; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and the love of her life, fur-baby Chloe.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her lifelong companion, Kenny Dohogne; son, Joe Figliolo; two brothers, Scotty Moyers and Buford Moyers; sister, Sharon Davis; and grandson, Tyler Figliolo
Memorial visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 28, at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, with the Rev. Tom Wilk officiating.
Online condolences may be shared at amick-burnettfuneralchapels.com.
