SIKESTON -- Effie Norman, 100, of Sikeston died Sunday, Jan. 12, 1997, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
She was born Nov. 23, 1896, at Crowder, daughter of Willis and Emma Watkins Page. She and Albert G. Norman were married July 31, 1915. He died May 16, 1976.
Norman was employed several years at JCPenney in Sikeston, and was a member of Shady Acres Church of Christ.
Survivors include a son, Gayle Norman of Huntsville, Ala.; a daughter, Evelyn Layton of Cape Girardeau; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, daughter, three brothers and a sister.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 6-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with Woodrow Phillips and Pat Hogan officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery.
