DEXTER -- Effie May Gunn, 93, of Dexter, died Monday, Sept. 5, 1994, at Dexter Nursing Center.
She was born Sept. 20, 1900, near Essex, daughter of William Casual and Pearlie Dodd Swan. She married the Rev. William Gunn March 9, 1917. He died April 29, 1989.
The Gunns estblished the United Pentecostal Church here in 1947. She was a member of First United Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include five daughters, Willene Gunn of Dexter, Norma Smith of Dudley, Nadine Wray of Ft. Myers, Fla., Dorothy Cook of Advance, June Dixon of Kansas City, Kan.; three sons, James Gunn of Dexter, Marion Gunn of Florissant, Kenneth Gunn of Rolla; 24 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four children, a brother and sister.
Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter after 6 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First United Pentecostal Church, with the Revs. Lee Cook and David Dugas officiating. Burial will be in Essex Cemetery.
