GOREVILLE, Ill. -- Effie Lorene Poole, 80, of Goreville, Ill., formerly of Tamms, Ill., died Friday, Dec. 29, 1995, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Nov. 19, 1915 in Elco, Ill., daughter of the late John and Lucy Pearl Brimm Sims.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Manford James Poole, on March 25, 1967; a sister, Virgie Rhymer; and three brothers: Bud, Bill and Fred Sims.
She was a homemaker and a member of Tamms Pentecostal Church.
She is survived by three sons: Gene Poole of Goreville, and Jimmie Lee Pool and Donald Ray Poole, both of Tamms; three daughters: Wanda (Sue) Goodwin of Town Creek, Ala., Peggy E. Smith of McClure, Ill., and Shelby Webb of Tamms; a brother, Conrad "Gene" Sims of Tamms; four sisters: Martha Baldwin of Anna, Ill., Cleta Poole of Mill Creek, Ill., Esther "Boots" Read of Tamms, and Erma Shelton of Yuma, Ariz.,; 20 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be after 5 p.m. today at Jones Funeral Home in Tamms, and after 12:30 p.m. Sunday until the funeral service at 2 p.m. Sunday at Tamms Pentecostal Church. The Rev. Vernon McClellan and the Rev. Johnnie B. Gibson will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Johns Cemetery near Dongola, Ill.
