EFFIE DEEVERS

Private funeral service for Effie Marie Deevers of Cape Girardeau will be held today at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel, with the Rev. Tommy Morrison officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park.

Deevers, 92, died Wednesday, Sept. 24, 1997, at Ratliff Care Center.

She was born Aug. 25, 1905, at New Madrid, daughter of Charles Luther and Mary Elizabeth Clark Wren. She and Alma Deevers were married March 21, 1929, at Jackson. He died in September 1985.

Survivors include a sister, Clara Lewis of Henderson, Ark.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.
